Nate Collins, with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was arrested in Virginia last week for misdemeanor marijuana possession. Collins was pulled over on Feb. 23rd by a state trooper for illegal tint. During the stop, the trooper reported smelling the “odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle.
The trooper reported that Collins gave consent to search his vehicle, and after they searched, troopers recovered what they called a “small amount” of marijuana inside the vehicle. The trooper would not give further details on where in the vehicle the drugs were found nor would she say how much marijuana they found.
Collins was not physically arrested or taken to jail but he was issued a summons. He was charged with possession of marijuana and cited for the window tint violation.
First Coast News contacted the Jaguars this afternoon for a statement. The team issued this statement: “We are aware of the incident involving Nate Collins and continue to gather information. We have no further comment at this time.”
