Authorities found thousands of marijuana plants with an estimated value of $5.7 million at a warehouse on Wednesday in Santa Ana.
Investigators received tips from several people about the activities going on at a building at 401 N. Sullivan St., according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Officers described the building as a warehouse-type structure and obtained a search warrant. When members of the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Task Force served it at the building, they found “a large, highly sophisticated illegal marijuana grow,” police said in a statement.
No one was found inside.
Inside, they found about 2,400 plants in various stages of growth. Also in the building were various code violations. It was red-tagged and boarded by city code enforcement officials.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
